The visual analytics that I chose is the "Tsunami Sources Poster" The data consists of the locations and severity of tsunami events globally between the years 1610 B.C to A.D. 2023. Visually, it shows each of the areas that tsunamis occur, the number of deaths, and what caused the tsunami, whether that be an earthquake, volcano, landslide, or other causes. Some of the knowledge that can be obtained from this visual is the frequency of tsunamis in areas, the distribution of tsunamis, and severity of them as well. The models that are used to create this visual involve categorizing and representing tsunami events on the map and is sourced from the NOAA and WDS Tsunami Source Events database.
